Podcast: The Soft Pack live @ multiple venues in L.A. (1.30.10)

In celebration of the release of their first album last week, San Diego/ Los Angeles band the Soft Pack (formerly the Muslims) performed an usual feat, playing ten shows in one day, starting at Soft Pack guitarist Matty McLoughlin’s house before skipping to such venues and joints as a barbershop in the Sunset Junction area, the record store Fingerprints, and a beach in Long Beach before coming to an end at the Nomad Collective Art Compound.
And, in a nod to what is quickly becoming one of our favorite discs of the year, Web in Front is offering up the two best recordings/ performances of the day–the quick and dirty first show at McLoughlin’s house, and the final, chaotic set at the Nomad Art Compound, both recorded by industrious taper Joseph Larkin. Both sets are worth owning–almost as much as the excellent, excellent The Soft Pack, out on Kemado Records. Podcasts and setlists after the jump.
