In one of the odder holiday music pairings since David Bowie decided to croon with Bing Crosby, local hotshots Manhattan Murder Mystery are offering up a cover of schizophrenic Chicago punk rocker Wesley Willis’ “Merry Christmas, Wesley Willis.” All jagged guitars and howling vocals, it’s a perfect antidote for holiday music schmaltz, and yet another discordant jewel in the expanding MMM discography.
Manhattan Murder Mystery will be performing at L’Keg on December 17.
