Podcast: Thom Yorke live @ the Orpheum Theatre (10.4.09)

Amidst a roiling tide of internet buzzing and rumors, Thom Yorke debuted his new, as-yet unnamed side project (featuring Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and Flea of the the Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others) earlier this month in L.A. with a string of extremely well-reviewed shows at the Echoplex and Orpheum Theatre; chances are, however, that most of you were not part of the lucky sliver of music fans that managed to catch one of the three shows.  As a consolation, we’re offering up a podcast of the Radiohead frontman’s first Orpheum set, in which the band runs through Yorke’s solo debut, The Eraser, in its entirety before launching a seven-song encore of all new material, which sounds as if Thom has ditched all his old Can and Talk Talk records for some serious Gang of Four.  Check it out–podcast and setlist after the jump.

    song 11 is not “open the floodgates” it is “Skirting on the surface”… a real treat to hear these songs again in good audio before they are officially released if any of them ever are, and they should… in one form or another…. thom yorke is magnificent individual!
