Silversun Pickups to preview two new tracks, “Panic Switch” and “Nice to Know You Work Alone” on Guitar Hero World Tour

Those of you who, like us, are eagerly awaiting the Silversun Pickups‘ follow-up to Swoon (out April 14th on Dangerbird Records) and their April 17th performance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival, now have yet another reason for April-based hyper-fandom–the band plans on releasing two Swoon songs (”Panic Switch” and “Nice to Know You Work Alone”) along with the Carnavas track “Well Though Out Twinkles” at the first week of April as downloads on Guitar Hero World Tour, just in case you weren’t frothing quite enough for the new record.

As for Swoon itself, Silverun frontman Brian Aubert describes it as sounding “like a nervous breakdown… Everyone worked so insanely hard and I feel like you hear that we were in there every day trying to make the best songs that we could.” And to pass the time as you wait for said breakdown, check out our podcast of a Pickups live performance at the 2006 SXSW.
