“Rockville, CA” band perfomances may receive DVD release
TheWB.com’s unfortunately-titled Rockville, CA, an upcoming, internet-only series developed by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz and which takes place within the east-side indie rock scene in Los Angeles, may be releasing exclusive, full-length band performances online, or even on a compilation DVD in the near future (band performances featured in the series are generally limited to 15 second clips, as the episodes only run four to five minutes). Which means that you’ll be able to see full performances by such L.A. artists as Earlimart, the Broken West and the Little Ones online if you’re too lazy to stroll down to the Echo or Echoplex on a Friday night.
At Monday’s Television Critics Association press junket for the show, Schwartz even noted that the series may move to network television if it does well online. Whether or not that would be a welcome increase in profile for the L.A. indie scene, or its hyper-slick death-knell remains to be seen.

Just checked out the Rockville website (thewb.com/shows/rockville-ca/)…if you register for their mailing list you get access to band footage that won’t be in any of the episodes. I’m a huge fan of The Kooks and Passion Pit…very excited to see their performances on the show.
whoa, thats a lot of bands. lots of content. lots of things to get crammed into a short show. do you think josh can pull it off? i hope so…
Saw Frightened Rabbit live the other month, they blew it UP! ok, i admit, pretty stoked for the show :)
